Waltzes
The waltz is a very popular couple dance throughout Ireland. They are often danced to an accompanying song that is popular and common throughout Ireland. Some local song compositions that have borrowed a popular air are also danced, for example ‘The road from Killorglin to Cahersiveen. There are recordings in the Binneas collection of house dances in the area. a number of the tunes played were waltzes. After they are transcribed they will appear here.
